Optimizing Enterprise Agent Routers: 20x Cheaper Than Frontier Models
Shahules786 · x · 2026-08-14
As the AI stack evolves toward multi-model scenarios, LLM routers are becoming a core component. Evo-hq recently demonstrated the effectiveness of smart routing using the ITSMBench evaluation.
The team found that for enterprise agentic workloads, frontier models still struggle with last-mile reliability and are prohibitively costly. By hill-climbing on specific data distributions, schemas, and policies, their router setup beat frontier models (including newly released Grok and DeepSeek versions) in both quality and cost, achieving a 20x cost reduction.
