Heron Power Invests Over $100M in US Factory for AI Datacenter Grid Tech

To address the dynamic power demands of AI datacenters and electrification, Heron Power has announced its first large-scale manufacturing facility, Heron Factory One, in Morgan Hill, California.
- Investment & Capacity: The company will invest over $100M to convert a former warehouse, creating over 600 jobs. The factory is designed to manufacture up to 10,000 Heron Links annually—a 5-megawatt medium voltage power conversion system for large-scale projects.
- Grid Impact: Fully ramped, production will reach 40 gigawatts annually, equivalent to roughly three-quarters of the new utility-scale generating capacity added to the U.S. grid in 2025.
- Supply Chain: With over 80% of critical U.S. grid components currently imported, this facility aims to bridge the gap using modern power electronics. Mass production is slated for late 2027.
