TrustedSec Deep Dive: AI Offense is Not a Noclip Mode

Cybersecurity firm TrustedSec published a blog post exploring the practical role of AI in cyberattacks. The article notes that while there's a cinematic fantasy of AI finding entirely new attack paths like a video game "noclip mode," the near-term reality is different.
The true danger of AI lies in its economic advantages: it makes attempting attacks against known vulnerabilities incredibly cheap and efficient. AI can test more variations, explain failures, connect findings across massive codebases, and persist long after a human attacker would have exhausted their engagement budget. Existing hard technical controls (like MFA, memory protections, and segmentation) still function effectively against machine-speed threats.
