Anthropic Updates Chrome Extension: Claude Sessions Now Sync Across Devices
ClaudeOfficial · reddit · 2026-08-13
Anthropic officially announced a rebuild of the Claude in Chrome side panel, upgrading it to a Cowork session.
Key Updates:
- Seamless Cross-Device Sync: Conversation history, skills, and connectors are now tied to the user's account. Users can start a task in a browser tab and continue it on desktop, web, or mobile with the full context saved.
- Security Advisory: The team cautioned that browser agents can be tricked by hidden instructions on web pages, recommending safe browsing habits and providing a safety guide.
Availability: The new side panel is available today for Max and Team plans, rolling out to Pro in the coming weeks. Enterprise admins can enable it for their orgs.
