Dad Uses Claude Code to Turn His 9-Year-Old Daughter's Notebook Game Design into a Browser Game
titkun · reddit · 2026-08-13
An indie developer shared the process of using AI tools to turn his 9-year-old daughter's handwritten summer vacation game design into a playable reality.
Development Workflow & Toolchain:
- Assets: Scanned original drawings directly from his daughter's notebook, used ChatGPT for cleanup and coloring, and generated 3D models via Meshy, preserving the original artistic style.
- Coding: Used Claude Code as the core agent, feeding it the notebook pages to write the complete game logic, including enemy behavior, collision detection, and win/lose mechanics.
- Agile Iteration: Employed a real user feedback loop where his daughter playtested, shared her thoughts (e.g., "The germs are too slow"), and the developer relayed the tweaks to Claude in natural language.
The game is now live and free to play. The developer also noted it was built on Sandscape, an AI game platform he is currently building.
