OpenAI Codex Criticized: Black Box During Work, Users Left Guessing

A developer recently shared a UX frustration while using OpenAI's Codex: during the majority of the model's execution time, the user has no visibility into what it is actually working on.

They suggested that AI coding assistants should always display their latest outputted reasoning messages. This would allow developers to track the agent's real-time progress and intentions, rather than waiting on a black box.
