Orchestrator MCP: Enabling Claude Code and Codex to Consult Each Other
crakintokyo · reddit · 2026-08-13
A developer has introduced Orchestrator MCP, an open-source local MCP server designed to connect different AI coding CLIs, allowing them to ask each other for a 'second opinion'.
It currently supports Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode. Key features include:
- Starting consultations and continuing them using the same native session
- Routing requests by capability, model, and priority
- Asking multiple configured agents to review the same material
- Running checkpointed research and testing workflows
The tool doesn't ask for provider API keys, launching CLIs already installed on the machine. The project is open source under MIT.
