A veteran with 15 years in game cinematics shares the complete workflow behind Cyber Slayer, a fictional 90s action movie trailer.

Images & Consistency: Used Midjourney, Flux, and Z-Image for base generation. Trained character LoRAs on Flux and Z-Image using 90s actor screenshots, relying on ComfyUI inpainting to fix facial likeness. Created character sheets and room layouts to maintain scene continuity.
Video Generation: Primarily used Wan 2.1 and Wan 2.2, upgrading several shots with MiniMax H3 in the final week. Attempted motion transfer using Wan Animate, but while body movement worked well, faces gradually morphed. Most shots ultimately relied on traditional image-to-video workflows.
Stylization: Prompted for latex, animatronics, and explicitly avoided CGI to replicate 90s practical effects (a la Stan Winston/ILM). Added film grain, softened images, and adjusted colors in post to escape the ultra-clean digital look.
