The paper proposes a novel programming model introducing the concept of 'adaptive synthesis/formalization.' In this model, components explicitly declare both their requirements and their side effects. The runtime can then automatically activate or deactivate dependencies and cleanly reverse side effects as components are introduced or removed. This mechanism offers a fresh approach to managing complex dependencies and state.
