An educator building the math platform Algebrica experimented with adding authorship indicators using GPTZero to verify if text was human-written or AI-generated. However, they found that perfectly normal mathematical definitions (like injective, surjective, and bijective functions) were incorrectly flagged by GPTZero as factors contributing to an AI classification. This raises concerns about the accuracy and reliability of AI detection tools when processing rigorous academic text.
