Weights & Biases Hits Milestone of One Billion Model Training Runs
wandb · x · 2026-08-13
ML experiment tracking platform Weights & Biases (W&B) announced it has officially logged over one billion model training runs. Founded in 2017 in a San Francisco karate studio, W&B quickly replaced tools like TensorBoard and was adopted by top teams including OpenAI, Toyota, and Uber.
The company noted that AI development now runs in a continuous loop: ship, watch production, learn, retrain, and ship again. The milestone of a billion runs has taught them what this loop truly requires, and they plan to keep building the necessary infrastructure tools for AI practitioners.
