OpenAI tests ads on Free and Go plans in India, promises no impact on answers

OpenAI has quietly updated its privacy policy to introduce ads on ChatGPT's Free and Go plans, currently being tested in India. Paid tiers like Plus, Pro, and Enterprise remain ad-free.
The company stated that ads will be clearly labeled and visually separated from organic answers, promising they won't influence ChatGPT's responses. Ad personalization will rely solely on in-app interactions, and users' personal details and chat histories will not be shared with advertisers. This move has sparked community concerns about OpenAI gradually eroding privacy protections.
