Siftly: Open-Source Local Tool Turns X Bookmarks into a Searchable Knowledge Base
Shruti_0810 · x · 2026-08-13
Siftly is an open-source, self-hosted local tool designed to solve the pain point of managing X/Twitter bookmarks. It uses AI to transform messy bookmarks into a searchable knowledge base and interactive mindmap.
The tool extracts entities, understands image content, generates semantic tags, and categorizes posts, allowing users to search by meaning. Most importantly, all data stays entirely on the user's local machine—no subscriptions, no cloud storage required, relying only on user-configured API calls for AI processing.
