Microsoft CEO Nadella: The Key to AI Productivity is Workflow Redesign

Addressing questions about why AI isn't yet reflected in productivity metrics, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella points out that the missing piece is fundamental workflow change. He emphasizes that true transformation starts only when the work artifact and the workflow change together.
Using his own Davos preparation as an example, Nadella notes that his prep chain for about 50 bilateral meetings barely shifted since he joined Microsoft in 1992. Now, he uses Copilot to generate a single 360-degree brief, shares it across functions, and forces a structural redesign of the work process.
