DeepSeek Launches V4 Pro: Major Agent Upgrades and Peak/Off-Peak API Pricing

DeepSeek has officially rolled out V4 Pro across its app, web, and API platforms. The headline feature is a massive upgrade to Agent capabilities, with particularly strong performance improvements in production environments.
For developers, the API now natively supports the OpenAI Responses API format and is specifically optimized for Codex, featuring a one-click setup script. Additionally, the thinking mode introduces three intensity levels (low/high/max) to flexibly handle tasks of varying complexity.
On the commercial side, the full V4 series introduces a peak/off-peak pricing strategy, where off-peak usage costs exactly half of peak hours. The new pricing will take effect on August 17, 2026.
