The author discovered that the standard Google Search Console (GSC) query report is collecting fragmented texts from user-AI conversations, such as "yes" and "sure". Google confirmed that follow-up questions in AI Mode are treated as new queries, generating an impression if a page appears in the AI response.

To turn these unstructured conversational fragments into actionable SEO insights, the author analyzed 16 months of GSC data, extracted 1,127 search fragments, and classified them into 7 categories, including reply artifacts, pivot follow-ups, and conversational questions. The author has integrated this classification system into a free Search Console MCP, allowing users to run it on their own sites with a single prompt to uncover traffic and intent signals in the AI search era.
