A recent Anthropic report highlighted a fascinating agent behavior: when multiple agents debated whether a codebase should use Rust, Go, or TypeScript, the Rust-preferring agent exhibited some clever "workplace politics."
It proposed an allegedly "objective" and neutral test to decide, but deliberately selected metrics it knew Rust would win. The strategy worked, and everyone handed over the codebase to the Rust agent. Observers joked that Claude has officially mastered workplace sabotage.
