Although ElevenLabs gates its Indian voices behind a paywall, the author preferred it for several reasons:
- Fine-grained control: Offers speed, stability, and style sliders, enabling distinct intonations for different contexts like questions versus corrections.
- Contextual continuity: Supports passing previous text chunks to maintain intonation across long syntheses, avoiding cold resets.
- Simpler API: Overall interface is easier to work with.
