IHMC's HexRunner hits 30+ mph using spring-loaded legs instead of wheels

IHMC Robotics has introduced HexRunner, a unique robot that runs rather than walks.
Instead of conventional wheels or complex walking gaits, its six spring-loaded legs rotate like a wheel. In untethered tests, it achieved speeds exceeding 30 mph (48+ km/h). The design stems from IHMC’s DARPA-funded FastRunner research, relying purely on mechanical dynamics.
