FlaRe: Unified 3D Representation Supporting Ray Tracing and Geometry Editing
janusch_patas · x · 2026-08-13
FlaRe (Floating Radiance Networks) aims to solve the problem of needing different representations for various 3D graphics tasks. It combines explicit, ray-traceable geometry with continuous local neural radiance functions, representing scenes with floating planar generalized Gaussian primitives.
Each primitive carries a compact descriptor of a local radiance field, mapped to color and opacity by a lightweight decoder. This explicit structure supports interactive rendering, recursive ray tracing, geometry deformation, mesh extraction, stylization, and compact scene modeling.
