Sakana Chat Major Update: Generate Web Apps via Code Execution, No Login Required
graceisford · x · 2026-08-13
Sakana AI has pushed a major update to Sakana Chat, which is now free to use with no login required.
Key features of the new release include:
- Model Upgrades: Powered by the new generation Namazu Japanese LLM and the Fugu model.
- Full Code Execution: Users can 'vibe-code' interactive web apps, games, and tools directly in the browser just by describing what they want (even in Japanese).
- Office Automation: Users can drop an Excel file into the chat, and the model will analyze the raw data, run Python, generate charts, and format a finished report.
The company stated that a big motivation for this release is to get people in Japan, especially kids, excited about software development, while also tailoring the tool to everyday Japanese business workflows.
