We Are in an AI Evaluation Bubble: Value is Created but Winners Remain Unclear
tristanbob · x · 2026-08-13
The author argues that the AI industry is currently in an "evaluation bubble." While AI is undoubtedly creating massive value, no one knows exactly how much value is being generated or which companies will ultimately capture it.
Once these questions are answered, the market bubble will pop into a fear phase. Ultimately, the industry will be left with amazing new technologies dominated by a smaller set of highly profitable companies. This is the double-edged sword of capitalism that rewards innovation while enforcing efficiency.
