AI Safety Scholar: We Must Stop Automated AI R&D, Not Pace It

In response to suggestions from major AI companies and over 1,300 employees advising the US government to "pace" automated AI R&D, AI safety researcher David Krueger sharply criticized the approach. He argues that setting thresholds is insufficient; instead, automated AI R&D must be stopped entirely.
