Enterprise AI Adoption Slowed by Mid-Senior Engineer Identity Crisis
prasanna_says · x · 2026-08-13
Conversations with engineering leaders and consultants in Bangalore reveal that enterprise AI transformation remains slow. The primary bottleneck isn't the technology itself, but a significant identity crisis among mid-senior engineers (typically with 4-8 years of experience).
These engineers exhibit anxiety over losing their core value, questioning "what is my role if AI does everything?" or resisting the urge to stop manually reviewing AI-generated code out of fear of quality degradation. This well-intentioned resistance is becoming a hidden bottleneck for AI diffusion and productivity gains in the industry.
