ShieldFont Uses Font Ligatures to Serve Nonsense to AI Scrapers

Two designers have introduced ShieldFont, a new typeface designed to protect web content from unauthorized AI scraping for model training.
The technology leverages ligatures. When the font engine renders the page on screen, it displays perfectly readable text for humans. However, in the underlying HTML source code, entire words are substituted with nonsensical ones (e.g., replacing "horse" with "potato"). This means AI scrapers downloading plaintext source code will only collect altered, useless data, while the end-user experience remains completely unaffected.
