Researchers Call for Joining Independent AI Eval Orgs for High Impact

As frontier AI risks escalate, the role of independent evaluation and auditing organizations becomes critical. David Rein called on his friends at frontier AI companies to join independent evaluation teams to advance ambitious risk assessment programs.
Nat Purser subsequently stated that when one has the talent to join a top AI lab, choosing to work at an independent eval or auditing org is one of the most civically minded and high-impact choices one can make today. He emphasized that the freedom of this position allows one to be candid about institutional and industry issues.
