The author shares a practical workflow trick for generating 12fps low-framerate video using the Minimax H3 model:
- Set the target duration to half of the actual desired length (e.g., set to 1.5s for a 3s output).
- Use a 12fps reference video for motion guidance.
- Export the default 24fps output at 12fps to perfectly match the reference video's timing.
The author also raises quality concerns: since the model is natively trained on 24fps, this time-compression trick might trick the model into perceiving motion as extremely fast, potentially introducing unwanted motion blur. It remains an open question whether high-quality low-fps styles (like anime) seen in the community are natively generated with duplicate frames or achieved through other hidden methods.
