rmstein · x · 2026-08-13
Google announced it is lowering the follower thresholds for Search profiles to allow more creators and publishers to set them up, with plans to expand the feature to more countries soon.
According to the updated help documentation, creating a Search profile currently requires a minimum number of followers on specific platforms: 35,000 for YouTube, Instagram, and X, and 100,000 for TikTok. The feature aims to help users discover creators' cross-platform content more easily on Google Search and Discover.
