A developer shared significant performance improvements running ComfyUI on Linux Mint compared to Windows 11 using an RTX 5090 + 3090 dual-GPU setup.
- Startup & Compilation: ComfyUI launches in 10 seconds on Linux (vs. 18s on Windows). It also successfully compiled Sage Attention 3, which failed on Win11.
- Generation Speed: Generating an 8-second 0.5MP MiniMax H3 video took 35 seconds on Linux, 5-7 seconds faster than Windows. With Spectrum and Sage3, total gen time drops under 30 seconds.
- Multi-GPU Support: The author noted multi-GPU is fundamentally broken on Windows and plans to test it on Linux next.
