Reddit user V4nKw15h discovered that enabling hardware acceleration in the browser significantly slows down AI video generation, such as Minimax. In tests, watching full-screen YouTube videos increased generation time from 5 minutes to nearly 11 minutes, and it didn't recover even after closing the video. The cause is that hardware acceleration uses GPU and VRAM, interfering with generation. Disabling it solved the issue. The author notes that hardware acceleration may be needed for 4K 60fps videos, but older CPUs may struggle with 1080p 60fps.
