AI company Cellular Intelligence announced that University of Pennsylvania professor and single-cell biology pioneer Arjun Raj has been appointed Chief Scientific Officer and Scientific Co-founder. He will lead the integration of experimental biology, computational biology, and machine learning to build a closed-loop system designed to understand, predict, and control cell behavior.
Raj, who co-developed a method to count individual RNA molecules inside single cells, joined the company full-time in 2025 and architected its data engine. He noted that the field has always been limited by data, but for the first time, the company sees a clear path from observing cellular decisions to predicting them.
