Transformers.js Hits 10M Monthly Downloads, Becomes Top Browser AI Library

HuggingFace co-founder Clement Delangue announced that Transformers.js, developed over the past three years, has crossed 10 million monthly downloads, marking nearly 10x growth from just six months ago. It is now the most popular open-source library for running AI models directly in the browser.
He emphasized that moving a meaningful percentage of AI workloads to local environments is crucial, especially during times of compute shortages and increased cyber-attack risks. Local AI offers significant advantages by being completely free and ensuring full data privacy.
