Roboflow's Open-Source Trackers Library Adds McByte for Occlusion Handling

burny_tech · x · 2026-08-12

Roboflow's open-source multi-object tracking library trackers version 2.6.0 introduces McByte. Similar to ByteTrack, it uses segmentation masks (combining SAM and Cutie) for data association instead of just bounding boxes.

When objects overlap and box IoU becomes ambiguous, masks help accurately settle identities. The library also offers clean, modular implementations of leading algorithms like SORT and OC-SORT, natively integrating with detectors like YOLO and DETR.
