Unitree's Valuation Surges 16x: Real Tender Data Reveals Humanoid Robot Status
emax · x · 2026-08-12
Unitree Technology recently began its IPO subscription, reaching a market value of approximately 61 billion RMB, a 16-fold valuation increase in less than two years. However, an analysis of 302 actual procurement projects reveals a massive "hot-cold interwoven" gap in the current humanoid robot market.
Market Status & Buyer Profile:
- Main Buyers: School-related projects account for 68% of the count, but state-owned enterprises (SOEs) spent the most money (74%). Schools mostly buy them as "teaching aids" for research, while SOEs invest heavily in industrial bases and data collection centers.
- Applications: Currently, real-world applications are mostly low-complexity tasks like data collection, reception, and inspection. The robots are still far from factory assembly lines.
- Brand Competition: Unitree participated in over 30% of projects, with its G1 series being the most popular; high-end models were mostly secured by brands like Leju.
- Regional Traits: Guangdong and Zhejiang have dense project counts, but Sichuan and Shandong lead in procurement amounts due to large-scale industrial base construction.
The article points out that current market growth is driven by investment and infrastructure, not mature commercial application. Humanoid robots are still in an early growth stage where hype and infrastructure exceed actual revenue and application.
