According to reports, SSI, founded by Ilya Sutskever, is developing a new small reasoning engine. Thanks to superior data curation and meta-learning capabilities, its performance can reportedly compete with much larger training runs.
The AI industry is reportedly on the verge of entering the era of TTT (Test-Time Training). Unlike current mainstream models that rely on frozen weights and context window memory tricks, this new approach performs real-time gradient descent during inference to update weights. This signifies a shift from static knowledge retrieval to actual real-time learning while solving user problems. It boasts high sample efficiency, allowing it to be trained on hard-to-verify tasks that other paradigms cannot handle. Early results are described as "very impressive," potentially marking a massive paradigm shift toward human-level reasoning.
