xAI Launches Grok Bot: Cloud-Native AI Coworkers Operating Websites Using Your Login
xiaohu · x · 2026-08-12
xAI has released an early beta of Grok Bot, an agent designed to act as a persistent cloud-based 'AI coworker'. Each bot lives on an always-on cloud Linux machine and operates websites and apps using the user's own login state, bypassing the need for third-party APIs.
Core Features:
- Human Handoff: Automatically yields control back to the user when encountering logins, 2FA, CAPTCHAs, or payments, resuming once the human resolves it.
- Workflow Recording: Users can demonstrate a task once; the bot saves it as a fixed workflow to run on schedules or via Slack/Git triggers.
- Multi-Agent Collaboration: Bots can communicate and delegate tasks to each other, enabling a 'manager + specialists' team structure.
- Natural Language Permissions: Access rules are defined in plain English, enforced by an underlying review agent.
The product is integrated with Cursor's ecosystem, with subscriptions branded as 'Cursor Ultra'.
