jordiponsdotme · x · 2026-08-12
Spotify is expanding its upcoming AI music product by partnering with Merlin, bringing over 30,000 independent labels to the AI covers and remixes effort. Universal Music Group (UMG) had previously joined the project. Spotify positioned its product against controversial AI startups, emphasizing that it focuses on 'real artists, not fake artists.' The company aims to ensure artists consent to and are credited for fan-made covers and remixes.
