Universal Music Group (UMG) and AI music platform Udio announced industry-first strategic agreements, settling their copyright infringement litigation. Along with a compensatory legal settlement, the new licensing agreements will provide revenue opportunities for UMG artists. The companies will collaborate on a new AI-powered subscription platform launching in 2026, trained exclusively on authorized music to offer a legally compliant environment for creating and streaming AI music.
