NVIDIA Partners with Finance Giants to Mobilize $500B for AI Factories

NVIDIA Blog · rss · 2026-08-12

NVIDIA announced partnerships with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR to establish independent financing platforms. These platforms aim to mobilize over $500 billion in third-party capital to support the buildout of AI infrastructure over time.

AI Factories as an Investable Asset

NVIDIA highlights a shift from project-by-project chip purchasing to financing "AI factories" as productive infrastructure. Thanks to a globally adopted architecture and continuous CUDA software improvements, installed hardware (like the 2020 A100) remains commercially viable and cost-effective far beyond its initial depreciation period.

Rising Compute Rental Prices

Market data confirms the durability of NVIDIA's compute economics: H100 one-year rental pricing rose from about $1.70 per GPU-hour in October 2025 to roughly $2.35 in March 2026. The newer Blackwell B200 commands a premium, with cloud rates spanning $5.30 to $7.05 per GPU-hour.

Addressing Circular Financing Concerns

To counter circular financing worries, NVIDIA emphasized the introduction of independent, long-term institutional capital. Financial partners will independently underwrite projects based on demand and cash flow. NVIDIA may provide up to a 25% residual-value support mechanism on a project-by-project basis to unlock capital while maintaining disciplined risk exposure.
