AI Puts SaaS into Hardmode, Sparking a Resurgence of Technical Services
max_paperclips · x · 2026-08-12
A developer pointed out that as AI enables the overnight construction of many SaaS apps, the SaaS industry is entering "hardmode." This disruption could ironically lead to a resurgence of the technical services industry.
The core logic is that unlike SaaS, which can easily be faked through marketing, it is extremely difficult to "larp" in the services industry, which requires actual delivery. Once AI removes the barrier to building software, the true moat will return to hardcore execution and custom service capabilities.
