Chrome's Multi-Layered Defenses Block Over 7B Abusive Notifications Daily

Google's official blog detailed Chrome's multi-layered security mechanisms against abusive notifications. To combat growing notification spam, Chrome Security collaborated with Firebase Cloud Messaging and Safe Browsing to build a defense-in-depth model resembling "Swiss cheese."
Covering the entire notification lifecycle, the system automatically revokes permissions for inactive or repeatedly flagged sites and detects abuse networks. Google reported that these measures reduced unwanted notifications on Android by over 7 billion a day in Q1 alone.
