Developer @zeeg shared his recent experience with AI coding tools. After running out of his subscription, he focused on making his own tool, junior, more usable. Currently, its web UI is fully capable of handling daily code commits and feature shipping, effectively replacing Codex.

He reflected that subagents might not be strictly necessary for effective daily development. This underscores that in AI coding workflows, lightweight and accessible tools can often be more pragmatic than stacking complex agent architectures.
