LLMs Have Passed the Lower Bound of the Turing Test, Developer Argues

The author points out that identifying an LLM is more akin to recognizing a writer by their style than noticing a cognitive deficit. Models remain distinguishable primarily because they aren't trained to be indistinguishable, and there are only a few dominant models.
He argues that if we look at the original intent of the Turing test—measuring if a machine possesses at least human-level lucidity and reasoning—it is very difficult to argue that current LLMs haven't reached that threshold.
