Addressing confusion around Gemini's usage metrics, Google executive Josh Woodward clarified that the recent 1 billion figure refers to the number of people choosing to use the Gemini App. This count spans across Web, Android, iOS, and Gemini in Chrome. He noted that while other products like Search and Gmail also utilize Gemini models, the 1 billion metric specifically measures direct users of the Gemini application itself.
