Rumor: SpaceXAI to Finalize $60B Cursor Acquisition and Launch Grok 4.6 on August 14
koltregaskes · x · 2026-08-12
Tech blogger @DanDr1s reports that SpaceXAI could complete its massive $60 billion acquisition of AI coding tool Cursor as early as August 14. On the same day, Grok 4.6 is expected to launch, having briefly appeared in Cursor’s model picker previously.
Another user noted that 4 variants of Grok 4.5 (likely corresponding to Grok 4.6 reasoning levels) have been spotted in LM Arena. If true, this signals the full integration of SpaceX, Cursor, and Grok into a unified AI stack.
