Harvey Founder on AI Startups: Building Frontier Models with a 'Moneyball' Strategy

Gabriel Pereyra, founder of the legal AI company Harvey, shared his 'Moneyball' approach to building frontier intelligence during a talk at Sequoia Capital.

He admitted that his biggest early mistake was trying to play the 'Yankees' style of spending heavily on frontier intelligence. He learned the hard way that startups lack the capital and talent to compete directly. However, the landscape has shifted, and Pereyra believes it is now possible to build frontier capabilities on a startup budget by recreating intelligence in the aggregate.
