Grok Build v1.0.1 Adds Bounded Subagents and Safer MCP Controls as Musk Seeks Feedback
elonmusk · x · 2026-08-12
Elon Musk asked users for feedback on Grok Build. Meanwhile, xAI released the v1.0.1 update for Grok Build, a coding agent powered by Grok 4.5.
Key Updates:
- Sessions & Safety: /rewind now only truncates conversation history instead of files and asks for confirmation by default. Sandbox sessions can limit advertised bundled skills.
- Agent Orchestration: Subagent spawning is now bounded; wide fan-outs queue instead of exhausting file descriptors. Tools report whether they only read data, enabling safer restricted agents.
- MCP & Plugins: Managed MCP servers are only available via the gateway catalog. Supports sharing skills, agents, and MCP servers across teams via a plugin marketplace.
