AI Popped the Basic UX Bubble: Hybrid and High-Level Designers Will Thrive

The author argues that AI has effectively "popped" the UX designer bubble. This isn't because UX no longer matters, but because basic, repeatable UX tasks can now be handled competently by AI.
However, "Hard UX"—which requires genuine thought, taste, and intuition—remains rare and completely out of AI's reach. The designers thriving today are those who treated UX as part of their broader skill set. If you can combine UI + UX, you're doing okay; if you add direction and management to that stack, you're crushing it in the AI era.
