China recently released a tele-operated wall-climbing robot designed for high-risk environments. The device utilizes magnetic adhesion to scale vertical surfaces and is equipped with humanoid arms to perform tasks such as welding, grinding, rust removal, painting, or inspection.

Targeting hazardous scenarios like shipbuilding and chemical tank maintenance, the robot aims to reduce human casualties. Operators can use a VR remote control with millisecond latency to teach the robot specific tasks. This tele-operation approach also serves as a data collection method, paving the way for fully autonomous execution of these dangerous jobs once sufficient data is gathered.
