Meta Launches 30B Open Agentic Model, Zuckerberg Slams Closed AI in Manifesto

Meta's Superintelligence Lab released MuseGlimmer, a 30B agentic model tailored for local devices. Using 4-bit quantization, the model size is compressed to under 20GB, paired with DFlash speculative decoding to boost generation speed. It can run offline on consumer GPUs or MacBooks. Released under the Apache 2.0 license for commercial use, it features end-to-end task completion, tool calling, failure recovery, and multimodal understanding.

Simultaneously, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg published a manifesto titled The Future is for Everyone, fiercely criticizing AI doomsday narratives and power concentration. He argued that monopolizing superintelligence within a few elite companies is the real danger, and true security stems from checks and balances. He also slammed competitors for imposing corporate values on users under the guise of "alignment" and urged the US to ease regulatory restrictions on open-source AI and distillation.
